Gambling in the Alley

Personally, my favorite piece I've written. Also the darkest.

Synopsis: A man kidnaps an innocent bystander and forces him in a deadly gamble for both their lives.

I must say, I'm quite flabbergasted with what I just read. Bekkia's piece is a perfect example of human emotions once it...

The Elephant in the Room

This is my most acclaimed piece.

Synopsis: A man tries to cope with his sister's shocking confidence in him on her affliction to HIV.

I'm travelling to Asia in the winter. Where should I go?

::WARNING...this journal is FILLED with Haterade mixed with a shot of Pa-bitchn'moan::

I'm kind of mad...my ego has been bruised...badly. So badly, I feel the need to actually sit at my laptop and type up a complaint describing my displeasure.

1. Results came back for the Deviant Awards. I didn't get it. I didn't expect too. It's an honor to be nominated anyway. This guy got it instead: :iconsocraticsynapses:. Congrats to him...but then I read one of his journals...HE SPELLED "FOR" WRONG!!!! I don't know why that bugs me so much...but it kind of did. But that's all I have to say about that. Congratulations to him. Check out some of his work. It's actually pretty good.

2. Peruse Our Prompts came in. I got Honorable Mention. WOOT!

3. Dear Pen Pal came in...I gotta feature people and critique some letters, I'll hopefully be getting to that today. I'll do the featuring now, though. I didn't place...which is ok. I didn't think I would. With satire, you get a lot of laughs, a lot of flames, but not usually anything award-winning. That was just for fun.

4. The OCT results came back in today...and I couldn't be more pissed off. I DIDN'T MAKE IT IN!!! I enjoyed everything about creating those characters, and the judges smacked down my dreams, which is dumb. I guess my characters were too down-to-earth for it, I suppose. Neither of my characters had special superpowers that valued up to +18 and didn't have a Kamahameha wave in their arsenal...I just had good writing on my side. I read some of the people's works that made it in and was immensely disappointed. Granted, some of the entries were absolutely FANTASTIC, some weren't so much. What makes it even worse is that one of the auditions I wrote for the Tourney is in consideration for publication (Light's Out). Yep. That's right. I did get word back from the publisher. I'm UBER excited! I still gotta make it through 20 other pieces, but we'll see what happens...I'll keep you posted.
(I'm not really that pissed, I'm just a little disappointed that I didn't make it...I always forget that judges are looking for specific things when they pick out pieces, and I don't usually follow those standards...so it's probably my fault I didn't get chosen, not their lack of reading skills)

5. I'm still not happy with One More Story...I don't know if I'll ever be happy with that piece. Luckily, though, I still got another 25 days to polish it before I turn it in. Good luck to me on that, I guess.

6. I just finished judging on the Spring Has Sprung mini-contest, and Wes should have the results either today or tomorrow out for everyone.

7. Hmmmm...anything else? Oh! I'm thinking about posting up a segment of my first chapter of my Tim/Gina Project so you guys get an idea of what I'm working on outside of dA.

Other than that...that ends this episode of "Ty's ego is bruised."

Contrary to popular belief, failing at failing does not make you a success.

The grand canyon. Lol. I've been having a bit of writer's block. Everything's so nice and beautiful over here, I can't seem to think of anything interesting to write about...I just find myself going to the canyon and looking out into it.

It's an author's nightmare...
:iconkira73:
Sorry to hear that. I was getting worried about you.

Maybe pick up some old pieces and see if they spark any creativity?

To save our amber I shall swear an oath
Knowing it may some day kill us both
For vows and promises the risk is great
For the pain and hardship remains our fate
To write with ink that comes from my heart
I must find new life when we finally part
